— Huntingdon College, April 2018
Growing up in a military family, Brianne learned about working through transitions early in life. She moved seven times before making the bold transition away from her family in Southern California to the University of Alabama to major in Accounting. Her love for the individual-focused side of accounting guided her path to specialize in all things tax and planning for high-net worth clients at Warren Averett accounting firm. Specializing in financial planning allowed Brianne to connect all the financial aspects of an individual’s life into a plan towards clearly defined goals and objectives.
In 2014, Brianne received an offer from Huntingdon College to teach and oversee the accounting program as an accounting professor. As a newly single mother of three young children, Brianne welcomed the lifestyle change that came with the challenge of an academic position. “Sheparding college students through difficult accounting classes helped me to come out of my shell and make a lasting impact on young people during a time they make critical life decisions.” Brianne incorporated financial planning into her accounting courses, as a unique way to engage students. During her 5 years as a professor, Brianne got married, won an award for teaching excellence, entered a PhD program, and started her own business.
Financial planning has been the common thread through all transitions leading Brianne to wealth advising. Her goals-based approach to financial planning coupled with her diverse background in tax, consulting and academia, allows her to provide clients with not only a comprehensive, tax-efficient financial plan, but also the support to stay on track, even through critical life transitions.
Brianne’s blended family philosophy is to be like the crockpot, not the blender. She and her family love music and theatre, as they all play instruments and sing. Her husband, Freddie, also plays in the Montgomery Symphony.
